The 2019 Mustang comes available with three engine types, each more powerful than the last. The standard 2.3L EcoBoost engine uses a combination of turbocharging and direct injection twin-variable cam timing to deliver drivers 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque.
For those who want more punch from their pony, the 2019 Mustang also comes available with a GT setup that boasts a V8 engine capable of delivering 460 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. Riders can crank this up a notch by selecting the available special-edition Bullitt setup, which gives an extra 20 horsepower on top of the GT’s engine while also providing top-notch performance parts.
The new Mustang also represents an upgrade in handling from previous iterations. The vehicle now features both an independent rear suspension system for smoother handling, as well as a modernized chassis. The GT and Bullitt models also come available with a Tosen limited-slip differential, active exhaust system, and Brembo® braking for maximum performance capabilities.
Technology
The Mustang comes available with a sleek and intuitive Sync® 3 infotainment system. The system features Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ compatibility, as well as an enveloping stereo system. The sports car can be further upgraded with a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, Sirius XM Radio, and Ford Sync Connect, which allows drivers to control the vehicle via their mobile device.
Safety
The 2019 Mustang received a 5-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA.
